Models, Actors, and stock imagery: an Opportunity!!

Stock photography” …..

is a form of generic web and print advertising.  Photos I take go into a database at a stock photo agency where ad execs and art directors go when they need generic images for their ads or websites.  It also means I don’t know exactly what client I’m shooting for when I shoot.  In effect I’m shooting on what they call “Spec”.  It may or may not be used.

The shoots are usually fairly simple and designed to illustrate a concept or phrase.  Example: Father talking to his son: Competition in business: A person with a paint bucket and brush ready to tackle a home improvement project: or Someone in a yoga pose for a story on exersise.  Almost anything we do everyday might be photographed and used for an illustration for a web or magazine article.

A note to aspiring models and actors:
A lot of my images are used by designers and agencies for comps.  That means everyone from the art director up through the client is looking at your image and has your information while they are working on and casting the ad!

“Who am I looking for”??

Men, women, children, actors, models, couples, families:

If you’re interested in a great portrait that you can use as a headshot, in addition to a dozen of so energetic commercial shots for use on a comp card , book, or personal use, (all for free!) then this is the perfect opportunity.

The Process:

Shoots typically last for a min of three hours.  (We’ll decide on the specifics individually).

I usually shoot in my studio loft located in Whittier, CA.  We are on the border of Los Angeles and Orange counties, easily accessible via the 5, 605, 105 or 60 freeways.    I also often shoot in various locations in and around Los Angeles and Orange County.

I’m here to have fun so I’m interested in keeping the shoots low key and casual.  The crew will typically consist of just one assistant and myself.

Before we start shooting, I will ask you to fill out a model release.  A release allows me to use the photos for my professional use.

It usually takes a week or two to edit and prep the files.  After the edit I’ll send you a copy on CD in jpeg format for your personal and promotional use.
